2025 Kia Ev6 vs 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Kia has become a household name over the last decade by producing some of the most engaging and technologically advanced vehicles on the market. The 2025 EV6 is no exception, offering amazing looks, the best technology, and unparalleled luxury all at a reasonable price.

Performance

The 2025 Kia EV6 has a powertrain setup to prioritize any buyer from the hyper-milers to the performance junkies. The starting setup is a smaller single battery powering the rear axle that has 167 horsepower and a 240-mile range. There is an upgraded two-wheel drive model with a larger battery that produces 225 horsepower and increases range to 325 miles. All wheel drive EV6's come standard with 325 horsepower, or buyers craving more speed can step up to the GT performance model that pumps out a mind-bending 601 horsepower.

While the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E bears the name of a performance car, it misses the mark on hard numbers compared to the EV6. The top-spec performance-oriented GT model has a dual motor setup similar to Kia's; however, it's only good for 480 horsepower, a major deficit when compared to the EV6's 601 horsepower. Buyers looking for more efficiency can opt for the single-motor base powertrain, which produces 266 horsepower and is capable of up to 266 miles of range.

Safety Features

The 2025 Kia EV6 and 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E both earned a stellar "Top Safety Pick +" designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). When it comes to standard proactive safety tech, however, there is a clear winner: the 2025 Kia EV6, which can be equipped with Kia's class-exclusive Remote Smart Parking Assist feature that can move it in and out of a tight parking space remotely so the driver can enter/exit.

Interior

The 2025 Kia EV6 has a thoughtfully laid-out and thoroughly modern interior. Environmentally conscious buyers will be pleased to find out that a lot of recycled materials are used in the manufacturing process. Kia created a brand new platform for the EV6, which means it has a completely flat floor, making the cabin remarkably spacious. Two 12-inch screens stretch from the driver's door over to the start of the passenger seat. The Kia Connect app allows you to precondition the cabin to battle those frigid Bedford winters.

The cabin of the 2025 Mustang Mach-E is also fairly modern, however, it's not as fluid. A tiny instrument panel sits on top of the dash and looks strange next to the gargantuan 15.5-inch touchscreen that drivers must use to control the vast majority of functions. This means scrolling through multiple menus and settings, which is thought to do while trying to drive. The Ioniq 5 is a no-compromise triumph of form and function, whereas the Ford has the function but falls short on form.

Bottom Line

Ford will give you the run-around with the Mach-E, framing it up to be the fanciest EV you've ever seen while hiding some of its faults. Kia stays true to its strengths and creates incredible cars like the new 2025 EV6, which is a real embodiment of everything we love about the Hyundai brand on a reliable and stylish all-electric platform.
