2026 vs. 2025 model comparison

The 2026 Kia Carnival builds on the major updates introduced for 2025 with more standard technology and several smaller equipment and packaging changes.

12.3 inches Standard 2026 touchscreen
287 hp Gasoline V6 output
242 hp Hybrid combined output
145.1 cu. ft. Maximum cargo volume

The 2025 Kia Carnival received a substantial redesign with updated exterior styling, a more advanced cabin and the introduction of the Carnival Hybrid. Because those major improvements were already completed for 2025, the 2026 model arrives as a more focused update rather than a complete redesign.

Bedford and Greater Cleveland shoppers will find the same spacious seven- or eight-passenger cabin, SUV-inspired design and choice between gasoline and hybrid power. The biggest 2026 improvement is found inside, where the larger navigation touchscreen is now standard across the gasoline-powered lineup.

What changed for the 2026 Kia Carnival?

Main update

A 12.3-inch touchscreen is now standard

The 2025 gasoline-powered Carnival LX and LXS came with an 8-inch infotainment display. The larger 12.3-inch navigation touchscreen was reserved for the EX, SX and SX Prestige.

For 2026, every gasoline-powered Carnival trim receives the 12.3-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, Bluetooth voice recognition and an integrated modem.

Convenience

Rain-sensing wipers join the SX equipment list

Rain-sensing windshield wipers are listed as standard equipment on the 2026 Carnival SX and SX Prestige, including the corresponding hybrid trims. The system can automatically activate and adjust the wipers when moisture is detected.

Appearance

Ivory Silver joins the color selection

Kia lists Ivory Silver as an available premium exterior color for the 2026 Carnival EX, SX and SX Prestige. The color is offered on both gasoline and hybrid versions of those trims.

Entertainment

Rear-seat entertainment packaging is more specific

The available dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system continues to provide device mirroring, embedded streaming applications and over-the-air update capability.

For 2026, Kia specifies the system for the SX with the Dark Edition package and the SX Prestige when equipped with the VIP Lounge Seat package. Shoppers interested in this feature should confirm the exact vehicle configuration before purchasing.

What stays the same for 2026?

Most of the features that made the redesigned 2025 Carnival appealing carry into 2026. The new model year retains its bold exterior design, flexible interior and broad selection of family-focused technology.

  • Seven- or eight-passenger seating
  • Power sliding rear doors
  • Tri-zone automatic climate control
  • Available dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays
  • Available VIP Lounge Seats
  • Available Bose premium audio system
  • Available head-up display
  • Available Digital Key 2.0
  • Up to nine USB-C ports
  • Available dual sunroofs

Gas or hybrid?

The model-year decision is relatively small compared with the choice between the Carnival's two available powertrains.

Choose the gasoline V6 for:

  • 287 horsepower
  • An eight-speed automatic transmission
  • Up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity
  • The lowest starting price
  • A traditional powertrain feel

Choose the Carnival Hybrid for:

  • 242 combined horsepower
  • 271 lb.-ft. of torque
  • Up to 32 combined MPG for 2026
  • Less frequent fuel stops
  • Smooth low-speed electric assistance

Should you buy the 2026 or 2025 Kia Carnival?

Choose the 2026 Kia Carnival if:

  • You want the newest available model year.
  • You are considering an LX or LXS and want the larger touchscreen.
  • You want rain-sensing wipers on an SX or SX Prestige.
  • Ivory Silver is your preferred exterior color.
  • You want the latest available feature packaging.

Choose the 2025 Kia Carnival if:

  • You find a remaining model with an attractive offer.
  • You are satisfied with the 2025 model's existing technology.
  • You are shopping an EX or higher trim with the 12.3-inch screen.
  • You want nearly identical performance and passenger space.
  • Purchase price matters more than having the latest model year.
